
SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating the murder of a man whose body was found Monday under a bridge in Wichita.
The victim has been identified as 59-year-old Bernard Woodard, according to officer Charley Davidson. He was a homeless man living underneath the Douglas Street Bridge when he was attacked on Monday, causing fatal injuries.
Woodard had blunt force injuries to his body and could have been under the bridge for as long as a day, according to Police Capt. Jason Stephens.
Police need help with the investigation.

SEDGWICK COUNTY—Police say a homeless man whose body was found under a bridge in Wichita apparently was beaten to death.
The body of a black man was found Monday afternoon under a bridge near Douglas and McLean in Wichita. The man appeared to be in his 60s.
Capt. Jason Stephens says the man had blunt force injuries to his body and could have been under the bridge for as long as a day. Authorities are working to learn his identity.
This is the seventh homicide in Wichita this year.
