HARVEY COUNTY — Four people were injured in an accident just before 1 p.m. Thursday in Harvey County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2019 Kenworth T800 Truck driven by James L. Striplin, 44, Newton, was southbound on Halstead Road, when the driver attempted to turn eastbound onto NW 12th Street and failed to yield to a 2015 Hyundai Sonata driven by Chad John Pettera, 44, Wichita. The Hyundai entered the ditch and rolled onto its roof.
EMS transported Pettera and passengers Erin Lynn, Pettera, 44; Tyler Christian Pettera, 14, and John Clayton Pettera, 18, all of Wichita to St. Francis Medical Center.
Striplin was not injured. All five were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
