DeAnna, of Hutchinson, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 10, 2020. She was born December 31, 1943, in Elkhart, the daughter of William A. and Doris O. (Landess) Stewart.  She is survived by her four siblings: William ‘Bill’ A. Stewart II of Lewisville, TX, Sally Wonsetler (Tony) of Hutchinson, Becky Stewart of Hutchinson, and Jonathan J. Stewart (Lara) of Arlington, TX.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, who meant the world to her.

DeAnna was married to Richard William George of Bretton, Northamptonshire, England.  He preceded her in death. She graduated from Kansas State University in 1964, with a degree in Political Science.  From there, she went on to travel the world.  A few places she lived were Tilbury, UK, Chicago, San Francisco, and Dallas before ending up back in Kansas in 1992.

She poured herself into advocating for the arts in Hutchinson, and after buying a Victorian home, became part of the Historical Preservation Society of Hutchinson.  She owned Bluebird Antiques and shared her love of history with all who came to her shop.

DeAnna’s family will be holding a private memorial service on February 1, 2020.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to two organizations close to her heart: The Hutchinson Symphony at hutchsymphony.org, or BEAMS (Bible Education and Missionary Services, 228-832-1096, or gifts may be sent to Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, 67501.
