Barrett Wayne Miller, 14, of South Hutchinson, died January 14, 2020, at his home. He was born February 27, 2005, in El Dorado, to Conroy Wayne Miller and Jacquelynn Rose (Rosine) Miller.

Barrett attended South Hutchinson Elementary School and was currently a 9th grade student at Nickerson High School. He loved his cat, dogs, with raccoons being his favorite animal. Barrett was intelligent, gifted, and had a keen sense of humor.

Barrett is survived by: mother, Jackie Miller and stepfather, Darrin Crites; birth father, Conroy Miller; sister, Aerilynn Crites; grandparents, Cheryl Rosine, Julie and Mike Miller; great-grandmothers, Beverly Rosine, Nancy Nelson, Cheryl Rosine, Ruth Miller; aunts and uncles, Jessica Rosine (Vincent Romero, Benjamin Jones, Kiarah Miller, Dawn Miller (Roger); and cousin, Regina Gadberry.

He was preceded in death by: his grandfather, Jeff Rosine; and great-grandparents, Jr. Miller, Don Rosine, Conrad Nelson, and Lois and Winston Williams.

Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2020, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family present from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

Memorials may be made to Rise Up Reno (to benefit the Reno County Suicide Prevention Coalition) or BrightHouse (formerly the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

The family requests those attending to wear blue or green, to remember those affected by mental health.
