Amy Lou Cummins, 92, of Hutchinson, died January 15, 2020, at Hutchinson Health and Rehab. She was born on January 1, 1928, in Hutchinson, to Gust and Verna (Magers) Stringos.

Amy graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1943. She was a homemaker and property manager for rental homes that she renovated with her husband. She spent a lot of time volunteering for charity organizations. Amy was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

On January 1, 1953, she married Donald Roy Cummins, in Hutchinson. They shared 45 years together before his death on February 2, 1998.

Amy is survived by: daughter, Donna Lou Saunders (Mike, Hutchinson; daughter, Verna Andres (Wally, Arizona; son, Roy Cummins (Donna, Buhler; daughter, Vivian Gedeon, Southern Maryland; son, Randal Cummins (Vickie, Hutchinson; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brother, Stephen Stringos (Sylvia, Vermont; sister, Virginia Gray, Florida; and sister, Vivian Weaver (Dale, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Donald Cummins; and infant great-grandson, Jonathan.

Friends may call 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the family being present from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2020, at Elliott Mortuary. Details for a memorial celebration, hosted by the family, and a service, hosted by Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, will be announced at a later date by each party, respectively. Cremation will follow the visitation. Amy’s family will take her to her final resting place in Dore, North Dakota at a later date.
