Suspect caught on I-70 with cash from bank robbery

GEARY COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect for an alleged bank robbery after a traffic stop in Interstate 70.

Just before 3p.m. Thursday,  a Junction City police officer saw a grey Acura driving at an excessive speed on Interstate 70, according to officer Trish Giordano. After conducting a traffic stop, contact was made with Nathaniel Painter, 45, Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.

Police said Painter was wanted on charges of Bank Robbery in Paragould, Arkansas.

The robbery allegedly occurred on Tuesday. Painter was still in possession of most of the money that was taken. He is currently being held without bond at the Geary County Detention Center for the City of Paragould, according to Giordano.
