Victim of a 2-vehicle accident remains critical

SEDGWICK COUNTY — The 31-year-old Wichita man injured in an accident just before 3:30 p.m. Monday in Sedgwick County remains in critical condition at a Wichita Hospital.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a box truck driven by 31-year-old Tyler Mason of Wichita was eastbound on K-96 approaching 101st Street West.

His truck struck a semi driven by 64-year-old Willbert Reed of Wichita, which was attempting to turn West on K-96 from 101st and was blocking eastbound lanes of K-96.

Reed was not injured from the accident.

Kansas Highway Patrol officials are still investigating the accident and will refer the case to the Sedgwick County District Attorney for review and possible criminal charges.
