HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 61-year-old man who was just discharged from community corrections on Nov. 7 is in more trouble.
James Grayling has been charged by the state with one count of aggravated indecent liberties with a child. This is an off-grid felony under Jessica’s Law. This means that, if he’s convicted, he could receive a life sentence with no chance of parole for 25 years.
The alleged crime involves the inappropriate touching of an 11-year-old child. This allegedly occurred on April, 22, 2017, but the charge was just now filed after an investigation by the Reno County Sheriff’s Office.
During a court hearing Friday, he managed to get his $50,000 bond lowered to $25,000. Grayling will be back in court in January.
