HUTCHINSON, Kan. — An area high school senior has joined up with the Hutchinson Police Department to help those in need.
As part of her senior project, Carly Ogburn worked with local businesses and put together care packages that officers could hand out to those in need.
The care packages contain personal hygiene products and some other items to brighten one’s day including cookies, gum and socks.
According to HPD’s Thad Pickard, the care packages will be kept in the patrol vehicles and officers will give them out when they come across a person that could use one.
