Evelyn Marie (Fox) Lively, 80, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019, at Winslow House, Marion, Iowa. She was a lifelong Central Kansas resident, prior to a recent move to be near family.
Evelyn was born August 15, 1939, to W.D. ‘Dick’ and Marguerite Millert Fox in Hutchinson, Kansas. She was a 1957 graduate of Hutchinson High School and attended Salt City Business College. She married James D. ‘Jim’ Lively February 2, 1958, in Hutchinson. Jim passed away in 2015.
She was a homemaker and also worked at Dillons delicatessen and Skaggs/Osco Drug. Evelyn was a member of First United Methodist Church and 50/50 Sunday School class. She was active in many community groups and service clubs including Roosevelt School and Liberty Jr. High PTA, Wheatbelt Council Girl Scouts, EHU Extension Home Unit, Phi Beta Psi-Zeta Gamma Chapter sorority, Meals on Wheels, and American Red Cross. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, reading, crafts, and collectibles.
A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Evelyn is survived by: daughters, Diane Lively and wife Marie Kristensson, Stockholm, Sweden, Karen Lively Antons and husband Tim, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sisters, Maxine Propp and husband Robert, Fort Worth, Texas, Elizabeth Taylor and husband Richard, Wichita, Kansas; brother-in-law, Ronald Montandon, Lathrop, Missouri; grandchildren, Christopher Osborn and wife Tracy, Brittany Osborn and boyfriend Chris Ostert; great-granddaughter, Alivia Osborn, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and many close nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; sister, Shirley Fox Montandon; and sister-in-law, June Lively Taylor.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2019, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, 1219 N. Main Street, Hutchinson, with Pastor Mic McGuire officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
