Janet S. Schmid, 73, passed away on December 1, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS. She was born July 19, 1946, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Thomas and Alta (McCoy) Moshier.
Janet graduated from Hutchinson High School and attended Wichita State University. On December 18, 1981 she married Larry Schmid. Janet was a member of several organizations; the Hutchinson Music Club where she was on the scholarship committee, The Hutchinson Symphony where she played the cello and she was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. She also crocheted purple hats for newborn babies that were donated to the Kansas Children’s Service League.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Michele Fry; a sister, Judith Baker and brother, Norman Moshier.
Survivors include her husband Larry; daughters, Denise Wilson (Roger Levasseur, Tracy Tanley (George Keene) and Cindy Tanley; grandchildren, Breann Fry, Ryan Spitler, Emmanuel Torres, Dylan Wilson, Jayce Fry, Kylee (Rob) Mies, Jeran Fry, Erin (Miles) Beech and Duncan Lee; great granddaughter, Anastaria Haynes.
Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, December 9, 2019 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 407 E. 12th Ave., Hutchinson, KS, Pastor Quentin Nuttmann officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 9, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, KS. In lieu of flower memorials may be given to the Hutchinson Symphony and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS 67502.
