Just before 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Salina Fire Department EMS and Salina Police officers were dispatched to a residence at 1100 North 10th Street for a medical emergency, according to a media release from Salina Police. Upon arrival, first responders found 52-year-old Phillip R. Grubbs, Jr., deceased. Through the police investigation, Melani Grubbs, age 60, was identified as a suspect in Phillip Grubbs’ murder, according to police. Melani was Phillip Grubbs’ wife and also lived at 1100 North&nbsp;10th&nbsp;Street, according to the release.&nbsp; Melani Gubbs has been booked into the Salina County Jail with requested charges including one count of second degree murder and one count of felon in possession of a firearm, according to the release. She has a previous conviction for theft and had been out of prison since September 2017, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections. This police investigation is on-going.
