Known by most as Nanny or The Nanny, she was a grandmother to all “her babies”...which included virtually any person under the age of 30 that walked through the door. She was a fountain of love and was more than willing to share that love with any and all around her. Outside of spending time with “her babies” her hobbies included tanning by the pool, chasing “critters” out of her garden, reading Harlequin romance novels...or pretty much reading anything with words, and sneaking around the house like a ninja. The Nanny loved doing laundry and actively looked forward to Tuesdays and Fridays because they were “warsh days”. She was the MacGyver of Gravy and could make amazing gravy for biscuits out of virtually anything.
Nanny overcame many obstacles in her life, especially late in life, including lung cancer and a brain injury. She never felt sorry for herself and would often smile and say “God has been good to me.” She took everything in stride and continued to love life.
