Paul Andrew Schrag, Jr., 92, died November 19, 2019, at Newton Medical Center. He was born September 21, 1927, on the family farm at Burrton, to Paul Andrew and Alvina Bertha (Krehbiel) Schrag.
Paul loved the land and farming was his life. He was a farmer and stockman, and lived on the family farm his entire life. Paul was a lifetime member of the former Burrton Mennonite Church. He had a strong faith, and even though his family will miss him, they are comforted by Paul’s last words to them, ‘I want to go to heaven’.
Paul is survived by: brother, Bob Schrag and wife Mary Ann; sister, Marlene Barton, all of Hutchinson; brother-in-law, Clifford Dick of Hutchinson; sisters-in-law, Juanita Schrag of Newton, Marilyn Schrag of Burrton; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; an infant sister; brothers, Harold, Willard, LaVern, and Merle; sister, Joan Dick; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2019, at Elliott Chapel, with Jim Gundy officiating. Burial will follow in Burrton Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mennonite Disaster Service, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
