HUTCHINSON, Kan. — KWBW’s Project Concern raised $16,197.
Nearly $1,900 was donated Monday morning during a 90-minute span. KWBW's Glen Grunwald dressed as a turkey outside the station and encouraged listeners to donate from the comfort of their cars.
The Salvation Army will get 75% of the money to help less fortunate families have a nice Thanksgiving. KWBW will take the money to Dillons and purchase gift cards for the Salvation Army to distribute.
The other 25% is divided three ways and given to Friendship Meals, the Christian Soup Ministry and Emanuel Lutheran Church for the annual community Thanksgiving meal.
Last year, KWBW raised $15,000. Project Concern would not have been a success without the help of generous listeners.
