WICHITA — Former major leaguer Daniel Gossett threw the first no-hitter in Wichita Wind Surge history on Friday night, blanking the Tulsa Drillers 3-0.

Gossett threw a complete game with three walks and ten strikeouts. That is the first complete game in Surge history, too.

Gossett pitched in parts of two seasons with the Oakland Athletics in 2017 and 2018 before he underwent Tommy John surgery and was ultimately released before the start of the pandemic-shortened 2020 season.

Gossett had struggled earlier this year at AAA St. Paul and was sent down to Wichita.
