🏀 CCS boys lose to top-seed Axtell in 1A-II boys quarterfinals

EMPORIA, Kan. — The Central Christian School boys basketball season came to an end Tuesday night in the Class 1A Division II state quarterfinals at White Auditorium. The No. 8-seeded Cougars fell to top-seeded Axtell, 68-44.

Central Christian (13-14) stayed within striking distance for much of the first half and trailed just 32-28 at halftime. Axtell (26-1) created separation in the third quarter, pushing its lead to 50-35 heading into the final period. The Eagles continued to pull away down the stretch to secure the victory.

Cal Barnett led the Cougars with 13 points. Luke Eigsti added 11 points and Piercen Huff finished with 10.
