Gerald Lee Green, 82, died April 3, 2022, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. He was born June 2, 1939, in Burrton, the son of Ottis and Allene (Guthrie) Green.
Gerald graduated from Burrton High School. He was an auto mechanic for several dealerships beginning at Boyd Motors Volkswagen and retiring from Donovan Auto and Truck Center in 2001. He was a member of the Congregational Church, Haven, where he served as Worship Leader for many years. He was on the Council of the Greater Wichita Area Cherokee Community. He enjoyed playing church softball, bowling, boating, duck hunting and watching Blue Dragon and KU basketball.
He married Sharon King in May 1959. They shared almost 63 years of marriage.
Gerald is survived by wife, Sharon Green, Haven; son, Jerry Green (Karen), Overland Park; daughter, Janice Dalke (fiancé, Bob Ruxlow), Haven; five grandchildren, Alex (Justine) Dalke, Haven; Ashley (Mike) Italia, Naperville, IL; Nolan (Jessica) Dalke, Manteo, NC; Courtney (Ben) Gering, Kansas City, MO; and Hannah Dalke, Clarksville, TN; and seven great-grandchildren, Laura, Juliette, Lucas and Heidi Dalke, Jacob and Jase Dalke, and Luca Italia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Delores Orem and Judy Smith.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Mount Hope Cemetery, Mount Hope, Kansas.
