HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The City of Hutchinson has some reminders regarding lawn care as the wet weather will prompt grass to grow.
Tall grass isn't a code violation until the majority of it on a property is more than a foot tall. Also, when you do mow, blow clippings back into your lawn, not into the street.
Grass clippings on roadways create danger for motorcyclists and damage equipment before making their way to gutters, drains, ditches and eventually waterways.
Improper disposal of yard waste is a violation of Section 8 of the City Code (Health and Sanitation). The City Code is available at https://www.hutchgov.com/161/City-Code.
