LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas redshirt junior wide receiver Cam Pickett was named the East-West Shrine Bowl Breakout Offensive Player of the Week, the East-West Shrine Bowl announced on Monday.
Pickett led the Jayhawks in receiving in Kansas' 31-7 week 0 win over Fresno State, catching six passes for 77 yards and two touchdowns. Pickett's breakout performance came in his first-career game as a Jayhawk.
On Kansas' first drive of the game, Pickett was found open and reached the endzone on a 21-yard pass from Daniels. Pickett would find the endzone again in the second quarter, this time on a 13-yard pass from Daniels.
Pickett is in his redshirt junior season at Kansas following three seasons at Ball State, where he earned Third Team All-MAC honors in 2024. Pickett had four touchdowns on 49 receptions and 528 yards as Ball State's second leading receiver. Pickett played his prep career at Brooks College Prep (Ill.), where he was a three-star recruit and totaled over 4,000 career all-purpose yards. As a senior, he totaled 24 touchdowns with four on special teams.
During the 2024 season, Kansas' Devin Neal was selected as the East-West Shrine Bowl Breakout Offensive Player of the Year twice (Nov. 25, 2025, Nov. 11, 2025).
The East-West Shrine Bowl is a best-in-class all-star event that will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on January 30, 2025. Players will be coached by NFL coaches, in an NFL facility, and will have access to NFL-level resources, facilities, player-friendly schedules, and opportunities at the highest level.
