
MOUNDRIDGE, Kan. — Two Hutchinson residents died following a two-vehicle crash Thursday night in Moundridge, according to the McPherson County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 7:48 p.m. to the intersection of Old Highway 81 and Arrowhead Road, where a 2004 Toyota Corolla had collided with a pickup truck.
Authorities said the Toyota, driven by Danny Lee Heath, 63, of Hutchinson, had stopped at a stop sign and pulled into the path of a northbound pickup truck driven by Kaleb Bowen, 19, of Moundridge. The pickup struck the passenger side of the Toyota.
Mariah Lyddane, 30, of Hutchinson, a passenger in the Toyota, was pronounced dead at the scene by Moundridge Fire and EMS. Heath was extricated from the vehicle and transported to McPherson Medical Center, then transferred to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, where he died around 5 a.m. Friday.
Bowen was evaluated at a hospital and released.
Next of kin have been notified. No further information is available at this time.
