Anonymous donation made to animal shelter

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Animal Shelter is always looking for donations of supplies to help with the care of its animals.

But one person really stepped up recently. Shelter Director Michaela Schommer says an anonymous woman walked in and out of the shelter last week to drop off some litter box donations. When the shelter personnel went to put the boxes away, they found an envelope with $500 in cash.

No name was left with the envelope. The shelter wanted to say "thank you" to the person who was so kind to leave such a donation.

The shelter says it hopes to use the money to purchase much-needed supplies for the kittens in foster care.
