Residents and businesses in the area from Poplar to Pershing streets and Avenue B to 1st Avenue will experience a planned water service interruption on Tuesday, Aug. 12, as city crews complete infrastructure repairs.

The shutdown will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. while the Water Maintenance team repairs multiple broken valves and installs a new valve on the east side of Hutchinson Middle School 7. City officials say the work is being scheduled ahead of the school year to help ensure reliable water service.

“We appreciate the community’s patience while we complete these necessary improvements,” the city said in a statement.

Updates on the project will be provided as work progresses.
