Klear Nearly Days is back this weekend, bringing three full days of family-friendly events, live entertainment, games, and food to the heart of Nickerson. The annual celebration, organized by the Nickerson Chamber of Commerce, will run from Friday, July 25 through Sunday, July 28, and includes activities for all ages.
Festivities begin Friday evening with a community dinner at the Nickerson Community Center that kicks off at 5:30 p.m., featuring pulled pork, cookies, and beverages provided by Berridges and the NHS Football Team. Bingo follows at 7:15 p.m., and the night wraps up with a karaoke night at Last Call Bar and Grill starting at 8 p.m.
Saturday, July 27, will be the busiest day, starting with breakfast at the Community Center from 7 to 10 a.m. and the 4th Annual Mental Health Fun Run/Walk at 8 a.m. The parade begins at 10 a.m. with Grand Marshal Aryn Hedrick and the NHS Choir singing the national anthem. Parade registration starts at 9 a.m.
The fun continues with a wide variety of events, including:
- Library activities and book sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Frog and turtle races at 11:30 a.m. near Berridges IGA
- Vendor booths, tractor pull, and mud volleyball
- Show and Shine car show from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Children’s inflatables, water fun, and dunk tank from 12 to 4 p.m.
- Petting zoo from 3 to 6 p.m.
- Community Center activities from 4 to 6 p.m.
- Dance on Main Street from 7 to 11 p.m., with DJ Kallen (Button or 2025 event shirt required for entry)
Sunday wraps up the weekend with a community church service at 10:30 a.m. at the Community Center, followed by a meal.
Throughout the weekend, visitors can shop at booths with art, crafts, and baked goods. Booths include artists Jamie Goble and Abby Dater, Girl Scouts, Melton Meadows Farm, The Beading Bunch, and more. A variety of food vendors will be on-site as well, offering everything from burgers and tacos to shaved ice and lemonade.
The Nickerson Chamber expressed gratitude to its volunteers, city officials, fire department, and business sponsors who help make the festival possible each year. Sponsor levels range from Bronze ($50 or less) to Diamond ($600+), with full listings to be posted soon.
