
The CBS Sports Classic has added Kansas to its annual college basketball showcase, joining Kentucky, North Carolina and Ohio State as the four participating programs.
The signature doubleheader, which began in 2014, is broadcast on the CBS Television Network and streamed on Paramount+. The event has been extended through 2029 with all four schools.
The 2026 CBS Sports Classic will be played Saturday, Dec. 19, at Madison Square Garden. Matchups will feature Kansas Jayhawks vs. Ohio State and North Carolina vs. Kentucky.
Future dates and pairings have also been announced:
- Dec. 18, 2027: Kansas vs. North Carolina; Kentucky vs. Ohio State
- Dec. 16, 2028: Kansas vs. Kentucky; North Carolina vs. Ohio State
- Dec. 15, 2029: Kansas vs. Ohio State; Kentucky vs. North Carolina
Kansas will also continue to compete in the State Farm Champions Classic, which has been extended through November 2028. The 2026 event is set for Nov. 10 at the United Center in Chicago and will feature Kansas vs. Kentucky. Kansas will face Michigan State on Nov. 9, 2027, and Duke on Nov. 7, 2028.
In addition, Kansas will participate in the Players Era Menโs Championship in Las Vegas during Thanksgiving week in November 2026. The field for that event has expanded to include eight Big 12 teams.
