Board of Reno County Commissioners to hold wind farm regs study session Tuesday

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — After many months and hours being put in by the Reno County Planning Commission, the County Commission will get its first full look at regulations connected to wind farms during a  special study session Tuesday afternoon.

The proposed regulations come after the county responded to the negative reaction from the public regarding a proposed wind farm near Cheney Reservoir.

At that time, the Commission stressed to the Planning Department that they want regulations that would allow for wind production and not kill off such proposals.

That still isn't sitting well with those opposed to wind turbines.  Most were hoping for a complete ban on wind farms much like Sedgwick County has done.

Tuesday’s meeting begins at 4 p.m. at Reno County Public Works. No public seating will be available. The meeting can be viewed on the County's Youtube page.
