HARVEY COUNTY—A Kansas man admitted committing sex crimes involving a young child.
On July 7, Michael Jacobs, 43, of Newton entered a guilty plea in Harvey County District Court to Aggravated Criminal Sodomy and Aggravated Indecent Liberties with a Child, according to the Harvey County Attorney's office.
Jacobs admitted to committing sodomy and lewd fondling on a young girl between 2019 and 2023.
Jacobs’ bond was revoked following his plea. Sentencing is scheduled before Judge Jason Lane on September 8. Jacobs faces a potential prison sentence of life without the possibility of parole for 25 years for each count, followed by lifetime post-release supervision. He will also be subject to lifetime registration as a sex offender.
