STILLWATER, Okla. – Wichita State fell in 5 innings at No. 21/22 Oklahoma State Tuesday night, 10-2.
Wichita State (21-20-1, 9-8-1) managed just three hits on the night. Jodie Epperson drove in both runs on a first inning double. Gabby Scott and Brookelyn Livanec recorded the only other hits on a pair of singles.
To open the game, Oklahoma State retired the first two Shockers, but back-to-back walks came back to bite them. Epperson laced a full count pitch over the head of the center fielder to bring both baserunners in, giving Wichita State an early 2-0 lead.
Like the Shockers, the Cowgirls scored its first run with two outs in the bottom of the first on an RBI double down the left field line.
Oklahoma State grabbed its first lead in the bottom of the second on an RBI groundout and two-run double. Two of its three runs came with two outs.
Three more came across for the Cowgirls in the third on a two-run double and wild pitch to make it 7-2.
The Cowgirls added two in the fourth and the final run in the fifth on a walk-off RBI single.
