Families in Hutchinson Public Schools will have an opportunity to meet teachers, explore classrooms and prepare for the new school year during open houses on Monday, Aug. 10.
Open houses will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at all USD 308 elementary and middle schools.
At elementary schools, families can meet their child's teacher and other school staff, visit classrooms and pick up student schedules before classes begin.
Middle school students and their families will also be able to practice opening lockers and walk through class schedules, helping students become familiar with their new routines before the first day of school.
District officials say the open houses are designed to help students and families make a smooth transition into the 2026-27 school year while giving parents an opportunity to connect with school staff.
USD 308 noted that Hutchinson High School and Midtown will not be hosting open houses at this time.
The district's school year begins Wednesday, Aug. 12, for students in grades 1 through 9, with grades 10 through 12 starting Thursday, Aug. 13. Kindergarten students will begin classes Tuesday, Aug. 18.
