Striped skunks are classified as Furbearing animals and the established hunting and trapping season for Striped skunks opened on November 13, 2024 and closed on February 28, 2025. 

 Eastern spotted skunks are designated as threatened. A threatened or endangered species taken during established trapping seasons, or other lawful activity shall not be unlawfully taken if immediately released. If you observe an Eastern spotted skunk, please contact the local Wildlife Biologist or Game Warden.&nbsp;
