2 hospitalized after Kingman County rear-end crash

KINGMAN COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident just after 6p.m. Thursday in Kingman County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2014 Volkswagen Passat driven by Jared Benjamin McGinnis, 31, Wichita, was eastbound on U.S. 54 one mile east of SW 50th Avenue.

The vehicle rear-ended a 2017 Ford Expedition driven by Kendra Kae Handen, 44, Kingman, who was stopped waiting to turn northbound on Kansas 11.

EMS transported McGinnis to a Wichita hospital and Harnden to the Kingman hospital.  Two children in the SUV were not injured. McGinnis was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
