For the third time this season, the Hutchinson Community College football team will be involved in a Top 10 national football matchup.

The No. 1 Blue Dragons (6-0, 2-0 KJCCC) will play host to the Coffeyville Red Ravens (6-2, 3-0 KJCCC) in a battle of the top two teams in the Jayhawk Conference standings at 7 p.m. Saturday at Gowans Stadium.

The game will be broadcast live on Blue Dragon flagship station KHUT-FM (102.9) and on sister stations KWBW-AM/FM (1450/98.5) beginning at 6:30 p.m. with Sean Boston (PBP) and Rob Dreher (color) calling the action. The game will be streamed live only on the Blue Dragon Sports Network beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Following the game - the team this week is Football and a Movie - the motion picture Remember the Titans will be shown on the Gowans Stadium videoboard.

The Dragons have defeated No. 2 Iowa Western (30-27) and No. 9 Iowa Central (35-17) in Top 10 matchups this year. Blue Dragon head coach Drew Dallas is 18-4 in Top 10 matchups in his tenure.

Coffeyville plays its fifth ranked opponent on Saturday. The Red Ravens are 3-1 against ranked opponents this season with wins over No. 4 Garden City, No. 9 Butler and No. 9 Iowa Central and a loss to No. 2 Iowa Western.

Hutchinson and Coffeyville are the lone remaining teams in the Jayhawk Conference. Coffeyville in 3-0 in league play with victories over Garden City, Butler and Highland. The Blue Dragons are 2-0 in conference games with victories over Dodge City and Independence. The game's winner will take sole possession of lead in the Jayhawk Conference.

The Blue Dragons, who are riding a 10-game winning streak for the seventh time in program history, defeated Independence 71-12 last Saturday at Gowans.

Sophomore return specialist Kordell Gouldsby ran back two punts for touchdowns and accounted for 161 all-purpose yards to lead the Dragons last Saturday. Gouldsby earned both KJCCC and NJCAA Special Teams Player of the Week honors for that performance.

Derrick Salley Jr. caught three touchdowns for the third time this season and the Blue Dragons defense recorded a season-high 10 quarterback sacks against the Pirates.

The Red Ravens burst into the nation's Top 10 this week with a 34-21 win over No. 9 Iowa Central. Coffeyville quarterback Mac Armstrong, this week's KJCCC Offensive Player of the Week, completed 17 of 24 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Ravens.

Last season the Blue Dragons took advantage of five Coffeyville turnovers in a 40-17 victory in Coffeyville. The Blue Dragons have won four-straight games and are 17-3 in the last 20 matchups with Coffeyville.

Tonight's game is the 95th in series history with the Dragons and Ravens.

Series History vs. Coffeyville – Saturday's meeting will be the 95th all-time meeting between Hutchinson and Coffeyville. The Red Ravens are the only team the Blue Dragons do not own a winning record against, trailing in the series 34-56-4.

The Blue Dragons have, however, won 17 of the last 20 games played against Coffeyville.

The Dragons are 13-34 in games played in Coffeyville at old Ise Athletic Park and Veterans Memorial Stadium. Hutchinson is 21-22-2 at Gowans Stadium vs. the Ravens.
