Coats for Kids Campaign Underway to Keep Local Children Warm This Winter

HUTCHINSON — The annual Coats for Kids campaign is now underway, continuing a long-standing community tradition that helps ensure every child in Reno County can stay warm through the winter.

Organized by Ineeda Cleaners and the Salvation Army — with support from Eagle Media — the drive collects gently used coats, blankets, sweaters, and other winter wear for families in need. Donations can be dropped off through October 31 at Ineeda Cleaners, 13th and Main in Hutchinson, where items will be cleaned free of charge before being delivered to the Salvation Army for distribution.

The campaign was started years ago by Ineeda Cleaners founder John Neal, and continues today under the leadership of Chris and Rachel Nelson, who are proud to carry on his legacy of community service.

“Staying warm during the winter is hard for kids who don’t have a coat,” said Rachel Nelson. “Along with children’s coats, we can also use hoodies, sweatshirts, sweaters, blankets — even hats and gloves — to help older kids and adults too.”

Donations will be accepted through the end of October. Community members are encouraged to look through their closets for items no longer needed and help make a difference for families right here at home.

Ineeda Cleaners is located at 1224 N. Main St. in Hutchinson. More information about the business iavailable at ineedacleaners.com
