HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson USD 308 Board of Education took an in-depth look at a recent curriculum audit on Monday night.
The audit, done by the education service center Greenbush, both examined the district’s curriculum as well as programs that support student behavior. The audit also surveyed district staff about what they believed was effective.
Based on information gleaned in the audit, the district is expected to drop some old initiatives that do not match up with curriculum objectives and practices.
Also during Monday's meeting, the Board:
Began the meeting with a short concert of sixth graders from Graber Elementary School under the direction of Stacey Williams.
Received an update on Kansas Education Systems Accreditation.
Approved joining the KJUMP lawsuit. Several Kansas school districts are joining a lawsuit after they were hit with huge natural gas bills after the February 2021 cold snap.
Approved minutes of the April 12, 2021, Board meeting.
Approved the annual EMC support renewal for the 2021-22 school year. The company provides support for district data storage and server backup needs.
Approved submitted grant applications.
Held executive sessions for negotiations and non-elected personnel.
