The 2026 City of Hutchinson Junior Golf Championship concluded with its largest field in years, as 61 young golfers competed for city titles.
City officials said favorable weather helped make for a successful championship, with medalists recognized across four age divisions.
In the Boys 14-and-older division, Central Christian School’s Cael Kooiman claimed the championship after shooting a 73. Zach Chance of Buhler High School and Alexander Haas of Hutchinson High School each finished with a 74, with Chance taking second place in a playoff and Haas finishing third.
Buhler High School golfers swept the top three spots in the Girls 14-and-older division. Anika Paulsrud captured the championship with a 77, followed by Paityn Weber with an 82 and Addi Specht with an 88.
The Boys 13-and-under competition was decided by just one stroke between each of the top three finishers. Beckham Barnes of Trinity Catholic took first place with a 45. Pretty Prairie’s Jaensen Boisse finished second with a 46, while Will Oatney of Central Christian School placed third with a 47.
Karoline Bell of Trinity Catholic won the Girls 13-and-under championship with a 66. Avery Bohringer of Prairie Hills Middle School finished one stroke back with a 67 to take second place.
