
INMAN, Kan. — No. 7 Inman scored three runs in the first inning and broke the game open with an eight-run third Thursday, beating No. 10 Ell-Saline 11-1 in five innings in a Class 2-1A baseball regional quarterfinal.
Dalton Priddy led the Teutons on the mound and at the plate. Priddy allowed one run on three hits with seven strikeouts and one walk in five innings. He also went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
Inman took control in the first inning. Priddy drove in Korbyn McClellan with a single, Kash Schierling was hit by a pitch to score Dylan Larson, and Cooper Moffit was hit by a pitch to bring in Braxton Malloy for a 3-0 lead.
The Teutons added eight runs in the third. Priddy singled in Jayce Jennings, Cohen Liebelt was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, Kru Harris hit a sacrifice fly, and Malloy added another sacrifice fly. Jennings later singled, and Larson scored on an error to make it 11-0.
Ell-Saline scored its only run in the fourth when Jaxsen Seed singled and later scored on Julian Roche’s RBI double.
Jennings went 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored for Inman. McClellan went 1 for 3 with two runs scored, while Malloy scored twice and drove in a run. Liebelt also drove in a run.
Seed, Roche and Lucas Swetson had Ell-Saline’s three hits. Quentin Ernzen took the loss in relief. Roche started and allowed three runs in two-thirds of an inning.
Inman improved to 13-10 and will play at No. 2 Spearville at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Spearville, now 19-2, defeated No. 13 Satanta 13-1 on Thursday. Ell-Saline ended its season 9-17.
