HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Reno County Interim Health Officer Karen Hammersmith signed Health Order 20-05 Thursday night and it was amended Friday. It will stay in effect until January 18, 2021, unless overriden by the Board of County Commissioners acting as the Board of Health.
The order keeps the same provisions as previous Health Order 20-04, in that it restricts gathering sizes to 10 and continues to advocate for mask wearing in the county. As a practical matter, however, the order has more than a page worth of exceptions. The exceptions effectively allow for most public gatherings in the county, provided social distancing is maintained.
Face coverings are strongly encouraged in the order and language referring to the order by Governor Laura Kelly that originally mandated face coverings this summer is still referred to. The amended order is below...
