The Reno County Department of Aging will offer an interactive dementia simulator experience Friday, June 27, aimed at helping participants better understand the daily challenges faced by those living with dementia.
The event, part of the county’s Community Collaboration Series, will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Department of Aging, 120 W. Avenue B. It will be led by Nicole Stahl, a physical therapist assistant and community liaison with Specialized Homecare.
Using simulation tools and guided activities, the session allows participants to experience the confusion, frustration and sensory changes that often come with dementia. Organizers say the program is designed to build empathy and provide practical insight into caregiving strategies.
“This eye-opening experience helps people understand the needs of those living with dementia and teaches skills that can make a real difference in their daily lives,” Stahl said in a statement.
