HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Dr. Mohammed Al-Halawani, MD with Hutchinson Pulmonology Associates located within Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, has been named a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP).
"Dr. Al-Halawani and his partner, Dr. Musa are doing just fantastic things at the hospital," said Chuck Welch with Hutchinson Regional. "I credit them with saving literally hundreds of lives during this COVID pandemic."
Dr. Al-Halawani is board certified in Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Sleep Medicine.
"That's for distinguishment in serving his community, as well as the practice of chest medicine," Welch said. "That's a very, very profound distinction."
Dr. Al-Halawani is looking forward to collaborating with other chest physicians that are part of the fellowship.
“This designation will provide an opportunity to visit one on one with contemporaries throughout the nation to research better ways for us all to treat our patients," Dr. Al-Halawani said in a release. "It will allow me to expand my network, nationally and internationally; continue developing professionally and be a leader in the field of chest medicine, as well as help my practice grow clinically and academically, allowing me to provide the best patient care possible and make full use of new treatments on the drawing boards."
Dr. Al-Halawani completed his Pulmonary and Critical Care training at the State University of New York; and Sleep Medicine training at Yale University.
