Charles Roland "Charlie" Wagler, 91, went home to glory Dec. 27, 2020, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born Dec. 19, 1929, on the family farm near Plevna, to John and Esther (Krenzin) Wagler.

He was a 1948 graduate of Abbyville High School. Charles was lifelong farmer and stockman, and an active community member in numerous organizations including the boards for the Abbyville Coop, Fairfield USD #310, Abbyville Frontier Days Rodeo Booster Club, and Reno County FSA board.

Charles was a lifelong member of Sterling Evangelical Bible Church, where he served as church chairman, Sunday school teacher, board member, and elder.

He married Lurlene Mosier on March 22, 1952, at Sterling Evangelical Bible Church. They enjoyed 39 years of marriage. Together they raised four children on the family farm until Lurlene's passing Nov. 19, 1991. Charles later married Patricia Ann Zimmerman, July 8, 2000.

Charles is survived by wife, Patricia of Sterling; children, Stan and wife Kathy of Abbyville, Susan Entz and husband Lowell of Yukon, OK, Jim of Sterling, and Rachelle Clifford and husband Baron of Shiner, TX; stepchildren, Todd Zimmerman and wife Lillian of Sterling, and Debra Preheim and husband Atlee of Hesston; brother, Glen of Hutchinson; sister-in-law, Sue Wagler of South Hutchinson; grandchildren, Tonya Baker and husband Jim, Abbi Burleigh and husband Jared, Tyler Entz and wife Cailey, Lindsey McGee and husband Landon, Charlie and Stella Clifford, Javier, Moises, and Rosy Zimmerman, Grady Pauls and wife Ashlee, Kylie Moore and husband Rob; and great-grandchildren, Nyan, Janae, Halle, Ari, Keira, Landry, Grayson, and Braylen.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Raymond.

Private family service will be Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at Sterling Evangelical Bible Church, Sterling with Pastors Phil Carroll and Lowell Entz officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation with family present will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, Hutchinson.
