Barbara Jo McAllaster-Corbin, 64, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away January 23, 2022, at Hospital District #1 of Rice County, Lyons. She was born March 15, 1957, in Lyons, the daughter of Clarence and Laverne Ehmke McAllaster.
Barbara was a lifetime Lyons resident. She attended Lyons High School, and later received her GED. Barbara was a homemaker and worked as a CNA at the Good Samaritan Society, Lyons for many years. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Lyons, Daughters of the American Revolution, and was a member and past secretary for the Sterling Bowling League for many years. Barbara enjoyed family research, Facebook, crocheting, bowling, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren, especially her granddaughter, Emma.
On December 28, 1975, Barbara was united in marriage with Bernard “Bernie” Corbin I in Lyons. He survives of the home. She is also survived by her mother, Laverne Reed of Wichita; six children, Jimmy Corbin of WV, Paula Moore of WV, Bernie Corbin Jr. and wife Shannon of OK, Rita Corbin of Hutchinson, Benjamin Corbin of Lyons, and Brian Corbin and significate other Chelsie of Hutchinson; four siblings, Patricia Marlar and husband Allen of OK, Micheallynn Romans of Wichita, Wayne McAllaster and wife Julie of AR, and Kimberly Hirst and husband Mike of Lyons; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Clarence McAllaster; and two nephews, Clinton McAllaster and Dickey Cruzan. She will be sincerely missed by the Rice County Emergency Communications and the Lyons Police Department.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with Dr. Donald Strohmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons.
