Robert ‘Bob’ Bruce Wilson, 77, passed away Jan. 23, 2021, at Diversicare of Hutchinson. He was born July 2, 1943, in Great Bend, to Ralph Austin and Alma Louise (Evans) Wilson.

Bob was a 1961 graduate of Winfield High School and earned an Associates Degree from Hutchinson Community College in 1976. Following his high school graduation, Bob entered the military service and served from 1961 to 1966 in the United States Marine Corps. After the completion of his tour of duty, Bob and his wife moved from Cherry Point, NC, to Winfield. He was employed with Boeing Company for three years and the City of Winfield for over five years as an electrical lineman. Bob then went to work for the Kansas Highway Patrol, retiring as a trooper with 25 years of service. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Hutchinson.

On June 2, 1963, Bob married Cleva Marshall, in Winfield. They shared over 57 years of marriage.

He is survived by his wife, Cleva Wilson of Hutchinson; children, Mike (Kris) Wilson of Hutchinson, and Kristi (Tim) Grant of Wichita; grandchildren, Kaili (Kyle) Doeden, Amber (Corey) Witt, Brady Potter, Brecken Wilson, and Maici Grant; and great-granddaughter, Nora Doeden.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2021, at First Church of the Nazarene, 4290 N. Monroe, Hutchinson, with Dr. Mark Glover officiating. Burial will be 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2021, at the Highland Cemetery, 702 Amos Becker Road, Winfield, with Mr. Paul Mendoza officiating. Honors will be conducted by the Kansas Highway Patrol Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Hutchinson Animal Shelter, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
