HUTCHINSON, Kan.—Some nights just go like this one did at Hobart-Detter field Monday night. Cheney used a solo home run and grand slam by Ryan Scott to drive in 5 runs by the end of the 3rd and cruised to a 15-5 run rule over the Monarchs in 7 innings.
a 6 run top of the 3rd did in Hutch after the home team had a 2-1 lead after the 2nd, but it was short lived as a normally reliable bunch of relief pitchers gave up walks, hits and home runs to drop only their 2nd game of the season.
Cheney is now 5-3 going into the series final leading the Monarchs 2 games to 1 in the all or none early season match up series between the two clubs Tuesday night in Cheney. Hutch is now 5-2 and will have Wednesday off before a double header with Wichita 316 Elite at Westurban SC in Wichita on Thursday. Next home action for Hutchinson will be Friday night at 7pm, plus the special Saturday night Cancer Awareness Night fund raiser on Saturday night.
