
SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities say their investigation into a shooting that injured two on Tuesday is complete.
Just after 7:00 p.m. January 26, police were dispatched to a Sonic Restaurant, 636 NW US 24 Highway in regards to two individuals suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds, according to Topeka Police Lt. Edward Stanley.
One victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with minor injuries and the other was treated and released at the scene.
It was discovered that the shooting occurred at a separate location, and then the victims drove to the Sonic restaurant and reported the incident, according to Stanley.
On Thursday, police reported that had identified all parties involved in the case. The shooting is believed to have been accidental, according to police department spokesperson Gretchen Spiker.
The case will be forwarded to the Shawnee County District Attorney’s Office for criminal charging considering for weapons violations.
