
NEWTON, Kan. — A tradition in Harvey County to remember the events of 9-11-2001 and help those in need returns Saturday.
The annual Harvey County RSVP 9-11 Day of Service project is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10 at the Newton Walmart on South Kansas Avenue.
The event is meant to honor the efforts of local first responders and is in its seventh year.
Visitors can purchase food items at Walmart. Volunteers will be collecting near the door and items will be given to the Salvation Army.
