Hutchinson – Donald M. Frye, 89, died June 3, 2021 at Hutchinson Health and Rehab, Hutchinson. He was born March 13, 1932 in Zainzville, OH., the son of Norris and Vera (Hansen) Frye. He was a graduate of Hutchinson High School. A Hutchinson resident most of his life, he and his wife owned Mom’s Attic, Hutchinson. He had also worked for Rainbow Bakery and Dillon’s Bakery. He was a member of Crossroad’s Christian Church. He married Janice L. DeWater on October 4, 1952 in Hutchinson. She died on March 21, 2013.
Donald enjoyed being a baseball coach, Cub Scout leader and spending his time fishing and going to garage sales. He loved his wife, children and all of his grandchildren dearly and loved spending his time with them. Other survivors include two sons, Donald (Mary) Frye, Jr., Wichita and Randy (Denise) Frye, Lawrence, two daughters, Lori (Richard) Kerwood, Towanda, and Lisa (Jerry) Taylor, Hutchinson, a brother, James (Pam) Frye, Hutchinson, eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janice; siblings, Bobby Frye, Karen Starks, Kathryn Troyer, Betty Amrine, Vanieta Leddon and Richard Frye. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, with Pastor Kim Biery presiding. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Hutchinson. Memorials may be given to the Trinity United Methodist Church and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
