Hutch firefighters headed out to relieve colleagues at Mullen fire

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The relief for the three Hutchinson firefighters that have been working the Mullen fire in Colorado and Wyoming is on the way.

According to a Facebook post from the department, Captain Craig Walle, Captain Travis Kerschner and Mark Penner from the Kansas Forest Service departed Wednesday. They will be deployed for 2 weeks and continue operations that current crews are performing.

Also, Captain Troy Mueller will be finishing up his service on the Cameron Peak Fire in Colorado on the 10th.
