Karen Beth Kelman, 60, died June 10, 2021, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born April 28, 1961, in Wichita, to Dallas Lew and Elsie (Nickel) Macklin.
Karen graduated from Buhler High School and Pratt Community College, where she received her degree as a registered nurse. She worked as a nurse for over 20 years at the Via-Christi Burn Center, Wichita. Karen currently was employed as a post-acute nurse at the Catholic Care Center, Wichita. She took great pride in caring for her patients and residents. In addition, Karen faithfully donated blood to the American Red Cross, and enjoyed sewing and altering wedding dresses. She was the ultimate caregiver; always putting others needs ahead of her own. Karen’s greatest pride and joy were her four grandchildren, Brecken, Kash, Hadley, and Harper.
Karen is survived by: son, Mathew Kelman (Jenna) of Hutchinson; daughter, Molly Willhaus (Clinton) of Nickerson; grandchildren, Brecken and Kash Kelman and Hadley and Harper Willhaus; mother, Elsie Macklin of Hutchinson; sister, Gina Meinen (Duane) of Maricopa, AZ; and former spouse, Steve Kelman of Hutchinson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dallas Macklin.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2021, at Elliott Chapel, with The Reverend Dr. Kim Biery officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday and 9:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
