On Friday, December 26, 2025, a Deputy located several Deer carcasses discarded in the road ditch on Mohawk Rd.

Kansas Department of Wildlife &amp; Parks responded and assisted in evaluating the carcasses. With little info at this time, it appears the deer may have been taken lawfully, however, their disposal at this location is both illegal and tacky.

Kansas Statute 47-1219 prohibits dumping of wild game carcasses in/on rivers, streams, ditches, roads etc.

We ask that everyone taking part in hunting, properly dispose of their kills. Improperly disposing of these animals and your left-over baked beans, looks bad for our communities appearance and the reputation of hunters everywhere.
