HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The official paperwork for the Wildcat Landing addition in Haven continues forward.
"The City of Haven has sent an ordinance regarding their Rural Housing Incentive District," Reno County Administrator Randy Partington said. "An ordinance the county would have 30 days to protest, if the county does not want to be a part of that."
Commission chair Ron Hirst expressed positive comments about what Haven is wanting to do.
"I've always said that 40 mills times zero is still zero, but 40 mills times $1 million five years down the line or ten years down the line, is some real money," Hirst said. "I think that's an instance to where we need to look forward in those areas."
Commissioner Ron Sellers agreed with Hirst that such development is a positive for the county as a whole. The city of Haven recently entered into an agreement to purchase a parcel of land from the school district as part of that development.
